Dear Mr. Madden;

I wanted to compliment you for hiring the caring and professional sales staff I dealt with the last two days. My wife and I have driven Cadillac's for many years and thought it might be time to downsize one of our two DTS's. I went to a few Cadillac, Mercedes and Hyundai dealerships in the last week, but wasn't really in a hurry, since we still had three months worth of warranty coverage left.


On Monday I was driving in Chicago and stopped at a dealer and test drove the 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0 Turbo. I was impressed with the feel of the car and found it had many of the options we are used to having in a luxury car. What I quickly found I did not care for was the approach and attitude of the people at that dealership. I stopped at another Hyundai dealer and saw sales staff and tile manager using tactics that gave the profession a bad reputation many years ago and I left wondering if that was the way all Hyundai dealers operate.

That afternoon I opened my email and found a reply to my web inquiry from one of your sales staff, Mr. AI Wagener. I had written to three dealerships and he was the only person who answered all of my questions including telling me" unfortunately, my color of choice was not available throughout the system and an option I was looking for was not offered in the Sonata. I called Al and my wife and I drove over and he spent well over an hour answering my numerous questions. AI's product knowledge was vast and J told my wife after we left I really would like to buy a car from him, but if he couldn't find the one I really wanted I may have to look around for a while and settle for something else.


The next day I got an e-mail from your competitor in Highland Park. They had an offer that was somewhat lower than your price for a turbo with the same features and their staff was very professional, but the color of the cars in stock still wasn't what I wanted. I realized I really wanted to see if we could work with AI. I drove bock to Knauz and after a lot of calls and "horse trading" AI managed to find one with the color and features I wanted.


I just bought the car and Al and Tony Halter, your General Manager, provided a truly pleasant no hassle experience. I plan on replacing the other DTS, when that warranty expires, and believe the Equus will be high on our list and Knauz will be our dealership of choice. As a retired Marine Corp Veteran I also appreciate the discount Hyundai offered for active duty and retired military.
